What’s up everyone? The season has started and everyone is excited to be playing hockey games again that mean something.
We have not had any games on Sunday yet, so that means I have been able to go to both Washington Redskins home games this year. I usually head over to FedEx Field with Ovi and Backie and we make sure to support the team. Their quarterback Jason Capmbell is a good guy and has been to a few Caps game since he has been in D.C., so I sport his No. 17 jersey. Mike Sellars, Chris Cooley and Shaun Suisham have also been to Verizon Center to watch us play, so we are pretty close with those guys as well.
Before the Redskins played Tampa Bay, they let us down on the field and we kicked some field goals. I hit one out of two, but the kick I missed hit the upright. If Suisham ever can’t perform, I am their guy. I am always amazed at how big FedEx Field is and what a rush it must be to play in front of 80,000 people. It would be pretty sick to play a hockey game in front of that many people.
After the game, I interviewed some of the players with my own camera. I will post some of the videos so you can see my interviewing technique. However, I have a feeling I should leave that to the pros like Joe Beninati and the Comcast gang. I am looking forward to going to more games this year.
I was also at FedEx Field for the recent U2 concert there and it was amazing. It was a sensory overload and I highly recommend the show. One more note on music, if you have not downloaded Pandora Radio yet, you need to do it soon. You pick the music you want to listen to and it creates playlists for you. I just heard about a few days ago and love it.
Mike.

thanks for the update. do you know when your cribs episode will be aired? also U2 rockss!!!
i went to the U2 concert too! it was so amazing!!

by the way, you’re awesome!
Tough stretch, but keep your head up! Don’t get down on yourself & don’t let your teammates get down on themselves. It’s still early in the season & we still believe in you guys!
Can’t wait to see your videos of you & Nick at the Redskins game!
Thanks for the update, Mike. We really appreciate it! Happy early Birthday<3
Happy 24th birthday Mike! My friend and I will be Rockin the Red tonight against the Devils and we’ll have a sign wishing you a good one
Hey! I really wanted to go see U2, but just couldn’t make it happen! I can only imagine how awesome it was! They are classic! I did get to see Snoop, The Killers and Incubus this summer which was great! Glad you found out about Pandora, listen to it every day at work. What is your favorite music? BTW, Feliz Cumpleanos! Lets win tonight! Caio
Happy b-day Mike! put a couple in the net against those Devils tonight!
Happy birthday! Great way to celebrate with a goal!
I was at the U2 concert, too. Never been to a show that awesome before.:)
Can’t support ya on your Redskins, though. I’m a Baltimore girl through and through, so its the Ravens for me!!
Anyway, thanks for all the updates! I’ll be there Rockin the Red on Sat.!
Hope you had a great birthday and a happy thanksgiving! First goal of the season kinda beats a turkey dinner though, eh? Congrats
Happy belated birthday! I saw the interview video on Chris Cooley’s website and it is awesome/hilarious. Also, I would be eternally grateful if you could arrange NOT to play any Sundays until after football season because I’d have to go by a split screen TV JUST so that I could watch the Caps and the Skins at the same time. I have to be able to support ALL of my teams.
Love the fact that you and the boys go to the Redskins games when you’re not playing on Sunday. Keep going because they are undefeated at home this season when you all go to the game – don’t want to mess with a streak. Love seeing my two favorite teams’ players supporting each other. The video of you guys kicking field goals at FedEx Field was hysterical – not too bad Greenie. Can’t wait to see the video of you interviewing the Skins players after the game. Did you know Cooley is listed as the backup punter on the team? By the way the capacity of FedEx Field is listed at 91, 704. It would be pretty sick to play hockey in front of that many people – maybe the Winter Classic could come to DC at FedEx Field with the Caps playing of course – now that would be sick!!
Lastly, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MIKE!! Glad to see you score your first goal of many on your birthday.
Mike, belated Happy Birthday! I’m glad to see that you and your teammates are supporting DC’s other sports teams. But please…do yourselves a favor and stop hanging out with the Redskins on Sundays. The Caps haven’t won since you guys went to the Skins game on the 4th!
“they let us down on the field”
I know it’s not what you meant, Mike, but that’s what the Skins have been doing this year. Hopefully you guys can get things going tomorrow night.
LET’S GO CAPS!!!!
Happy belated birthday – great goal last game! Here’s to a lot more in that column in the future.
Got my fingers crossed, hard, for you guys tonight!
Loved the interview you guys did w/Cooley and the new one on his site interviewing you and Ovie is hilarious as well…nice to see that the DC teams are having fun together
I’m a Cooley fan and he sent us your way. Great site and great that the Washington teams support each other.
